Teaching Assistant - SEND School
Location: Burgess Hill (Well connected by public transport)
Hours: 8:45am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, term time only
Start: Immediate or September start available
Contract: 12 week temp to perm contract following trial day with the school

A specialist school in Burgess Hill is seeking committed Teaching Assistants to join their team. This role involves supporting pupils in small classes across Primary and Secondary ages, who have a range of learning, communication, and behavioural needs.
You'll play a key role in helping pupils feel safe, regulated, and supported throughout the school day. Working alongside experienced teachers and support staff, you'll help deliver personalised support that enables children to access learning and make progress at their own pace.
Small-group support for pupils with complex SEND needs
Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour in and out of the classroom
Assist the teacher with day-to-day classroom activities and routines
Build positive relationships that help pupils develop confidence and independence
Contribute to a nurturing, structured, and inclusive school environmentThe Ideal Candidate
Has a strong interest or understanding in SEND and inclusive education
May have experience in education, care, youth work, or a transferable setting or personal experience
Works well as part of a collaborative team
Demonstrates patience, resilience, and a calm approach to behaviour
