Skilled Machinist
Location: Bradford, BD4
Hours: Full-time, Day Shift (6am–2pm), 37.5 hours per week
Salary: Up to £30k DOE
Contract Type: Permanent
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Machinist to join our Bradford Technical Centre, working within the prototypes and development area. This position plays a key role in supporting new product development and future business opportunities by producing high‑quality, precision components.
You will be part of a small, specialist team providing a professional, responsive service to both internal stakeholders and external customers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Set, operate, and programme CNC machinery to produce precision components
2. Interpret detailed engineering drawings and work from CAD data
3. Use inspection and measuring equipment—including micrometers, verniers, and height gauges—to validate component accuracy
4. Work collaboratively across departments to support development projects and prototype builds
5. Troubleshoot machining issues and contribute to continuous improvement within the Technical Centre
6. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised work area in line with engineering best practice
7. Support problem‑solving activities and uphold a high standard of professionalism at all times
What We’re Looking For
8. Engineering apprenticeship trained to national standard (or equivalent)
9. Minimum 2 years’ machining experience in a relevant environment
10. Strong CNC machining and programming capability
11. Ability to confidently read and work from engineering drawings and CAD information
12. Skilled in the use of precision measuring equipment
13. Excellent organisational and machine‑setting skills
