Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (Maternity Cover)

Academics is delighted to be working with a high-achieving secondary school in Hertfordshire to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages for a maternity cover position starting in January 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an inspiring teacher who can deliver engaging and challenging lessons in French and/or German across Key Stages 3 and 4, encouraging students to develop confidence and a genuine love for languages.

The Role

Deliver high-quality, well-structured lessons in French and/or German.
Contribute to the continued success of a supportive and forward-thinking MFL department.
Plan, prepare, and assess effectively to ensure all students make excellent progress.
Maintain high expectations for student achievement and behaviour.
Play an active role in the wider life of the school community.

The Ideal Candidate

A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with experience teaching French and/or German.
Passionate about language learning and committed to raising student attainment.
Enthusiastic, adaptable, and able to inspire pupils of all abilities.
Strong classroom management skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
