Overview
Senior Environmental (EIA) Consultant - South West & Wales, based in UK offices with WSP in the UK & Ireland. You will work within the Environmental Management and Assessment Team across multiple sectors (energy, aviation, nuclear, rail, property, Local Government) to manage environmental inputs to project designs and assessments, from feasibility to planning and delivery, collaborating with environmental specialists and design teams.
Responsibilities
* Provide environmental advice and support to clients, project managers and colleagues.
* Collaborate with environmental specialists, clients and engineering teams to promote sustainable design and environmental enhancement.
* Manage delivery of environmental inputs into projects, including EIA screening, scoping studies, environmental constraints studies, environmental management plans and Environmental Statements.
* Manage projects, including performance on technical, quality, commercial, and health and safety aspects.
* Build relationships with clients and identify opportunities for resourcing, programming, strategy development and project delivery.
* Undertake activities to secure new work, including proposals, bid preparation, and business development participation.
* Support development of innovative techniques (e.g., Digital EIA, Technical Excellence, Future Ready EIA).
* Inspire and upskill junior colleagues to support career development.

* Contribute to the achievement of WSP’s business strategy; be self-motivated toward role-, team-, and project-related goals.
Qualifications
* A relevant environmental degree in EIA or similar.
* Chartered Environmental status and Full membership of IEMA, or an equivalent professional qualification.
* Experience of EIA processes and working with limited supervision within multi-disciplinary teams.
* Knowledge of relevant environmental and planning legislation.
* Demonstrable post-qualification experience coordinating environmental assessments on a variety of projects.
* Understanding of project management activities, including commercial and risk aspects, forecasting, and quality assurance.
* Experience in business development and bid preparation.
* Experience liaising with cross-discipline teams, clients, and external bodies.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and attention to detail.
