Overview
Client Director - SaaS and Consumer (PIE Recruitment) is seeking a Technical Artist (Unity) to shape expressive, AI-powered 3D characters built in-house. You will bridge creative vision and technical execution, improve workflows, performance, and visual fidelity from day one. This role offers the chance to work on real-time characters using industry-standard tools and the PBR pipeline, with autonomy to impact the product early.
Base pay range £55–65k + benefits | Cambridge / Suffolk
International candidates with excellent Fluent English are welcome – sponsorship available.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Integrate and optimise 3D assets, rigs, and animations in Unity for real-time performance
* Build shaders, VFX, and lighting setups using Shader Graph and Unity systems
* Support facial animation pipelines — visemes, blend shapes, lip-sync
* Create tools and scripts to streamline workflows for artists and animators
What You’ll Need to Bring
* 4+ years as a Technical Artist in Unity, ideally in games, VR/AR or interactive media
* Strong grasp of real-time asset workflows, lighting, VFX, and optimisation
* Hands-on experience with Shader Graph, post-processing, and Unity HDRP
* Solid understanding of animation pipelines — rigging, blend shapes, viseme integration
