Apprenticeships play an important role in our organisation and provide people in our communities with a route into a challenging and rewarding career with North Lanarkshire Council. This initial 12-month apprenticeship will help you understand how housing operations function and gain experience in the delivery of front-line housing services within North Lanarkshire Council. As part of this apprenticeship, youâll undertake an SCQF Level 6 in Housing and Chartered Institute of Housing Level 2.\n Working within Housing & Communities, alongside Housing Officers, you will assist with the provision of a comprehensive housing service including homelessness services, allocations, estate management, arrears recovery and housing support to a wide client group. This apprenticeship involves considerable contact with the public, dealing with them in a polite and courteous manner; therefore, some work experience in a customer service role is desirable. Successful completion of the initial 12-month apprenticeship may lead onto a further 2-year training programme, where you will be situated within Enterprise & Communities Service in Housing & Communities, and will be required to work towards completing your PDA Level 6 in Housing Law Advice in your second year. You donât need to have any previous experience although you should have English and at least three other qualifications (Band A-C) at National 5 level or above. During the selection process weâll look for you to demonstrate the key strengths we know youâll need to be successful; ambition, determination, adaptability, personality, ownership, be pro-active and show willingness to learn.\nIn accordance with Government Guidelines, youâll need to be aged 16-24 (at the point of starting the apprenticeship) or if you are disabled or care experienced youâll need to be aged between 16-29 (at the point of starting the apprenticeship).
