Youll play a vital role in creating a safe, clean, and pleasant environment for our patients, visitors, and colleagues, while also contributing to the delivery of nutritious meals and refreshments.
Main duties of the job
As our Housekeeper/Catering Assistant, you will be:
* Cleaning all clinical and non-clinical areas to a high standard, following clear guidelines and infection control protocols.
* Maintaining a clean and hygienic environment by mopping, wiping surfaces, and sanitising high-touch areas and restrooms.
* Recording cleaning duties daily and reporting any equipment faults.
* Preparing and serving meals and refreshments to patients, staff, and visitors.
* Supporting dietary needs, understanding patient menu preferences, and liaising with nursing staff to ensure accurate food delivery.
* Assisting with simple food preparation (e.g., salads, sandwiches) and maintaining food temperature records.
* Operating cleaning and kitchen equipment safely and in line with training.

With your previous cleaning experience and customer service focus, you will also have:
* A good standard of written and spoken English, with excellent communication skills.
* Willingness to work flexibly between cleaning and catering duties.
* Basic Food Hygiene certification (or willingness to complete it).
* A team player who is friendly, polite, caring, and able to work under minimal supervision.
* Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks.
* Experience in a healthcare or kitchen environment and familiarity with infection control and COSHH regulations - desirable
