Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated History Teacher to join secondary schools in the Ipswich area. The successful candidate will inspire students to explore the past, develop critical thinking skills, and connect historical events to today’s world.
This position is ideal for an educator who is passionate about engaging young people in Key Stage 3 and 4 History, and who is eager to contribute to a vibrant Humanities faculty. Beginning ASAP.
Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality History lessons across KS3 and KS4.
* Develop creative resources and schemes of work to make history relevant and exciting.
* Track and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
* Foster a positive classroom environment with high expectations for behaviour and achievement.
* Contribute to extra-curricular activities such as history clubs, trips and enrichment events.
Ideal History Teacher
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent.
* Strong subject knowledge and passion for History.
* Ability to differentiate lessons for mixed-ability learners.
* Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills as a History Teacher.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
