We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Team Leader to join the Maintenance Team at our Stoke-on-Trent plant. This role will play an important part in co-ordinating the effective maintenance of all plant machinery and equipment to the highest possible standards, ensuring that production targets, EHS guidelines and quality objectives are met. Flexibility around working pattern is required to cover a rotating 2-shift pattern, plus additional / optional weekend working, as required. There may at a future date, due to customer volumes, be the requirement to work on a 3-shift basis, to include nights, and you may be required to work flexibly to support the operation of the Maintenance team, across the current 3-shift pattern, from time to time. Maintenance Team Leader United Kingdom - Stoke-on-Trent Core Responsibilities: To lead, supervise, support, and develop a team of Maintenance Technicians. Be the on-shift contact for Maintenance escalation and technical issues, with occasional out of hours contact for support, as required. Working with operational teams, prioritising, co-ordinating and planning the repair and service of all plant machinery and equipment. Ensuring all maintenance work is carried out correctly to a high standard, within legislative requirements. Taking an active involvement in; repair, breakdown, and service, identifying and resolving problems within agreed timescales, as required. Supporting and completing project work, as directed, improving equipment and plant efficiency as part of the Continuous Improvement culture. Ensuring Maintenance records and work database (SAP) are accurate and kept up to date. Organising and liaising with contractors, ensuring good working relationships, in addition to raising permits to work, as required. Maintaining a safe working environment and actively supporting the continuing development of a safety culture across the site. Assisting the plant Engineering department, as required. Competency Profile: Team player with great people skills. Self-disciplined and well organised, able to work on own initiative. Ability to work under pressure and make sound judgment and decision. Knowledge and experience of fault-finding, using PLC Systems, HMI's, DC drives, Inverter controls, and safety control systems. Comprehensive understanding of equipment- electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems and their limitations etc. Knowledge and practice of Lean Manufacturing techniques and tools, such as, Kaizen, 5S, Standardised Work, Poke Yoke, etc. Minimum of 5 GCSE between A - C (9 - 6) (including English and Maths). Fully Apprenticeship trained in Level 3 / 4 Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. BTEC Certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent - HNC or above preferred. Minimum of 5 years' experience working in an automotive background (Tier 1 or OEM) within a technical / engineering role. Previous experience of managing a team is desirable.
