Job Description
The Receptionist role is varied and engaging, involving continuous interaction with people at a Leisure Centre. The position offers a dynamic workday, utilizing diverse skills.
The contract is for a minimum of 5 hours per week, with potential for regular additional hours.
Primary Objectives for the Receptionist:
* Ensure all visitors receive friendly, polite, and efficient service.
* Create a positive first impression of the Leisure Centre.
* Maintain good knowledge of the Leisure Centre's facilities and services.
The day-to-day tasks include:
* Working individually or as part of a team to understand and meet customer needs.
* Providing warm, friendly, and professional customer care to foster loyalty.
* Assisting with bookings and processing payments for Centre facilities.
* Handling telephone inquiries efficiently and professionally.
* Understanding and assisting with social media platforms, website, and app issues.
* Controlling entry to the Leisure Centre and issuing receipts as needed.
* Enforcing Health and Safety policies and raising concerns with management.
* Managing cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
* Operating communication systems like the public address system and telephones.
* Communicating effectively with the team.
* Following procedures for new gym memberships.
* Operating booking and point-of-sale systems.
* Promoting resale and hire items.
* Handling customer complaints according to company procedures.
* Maintaining a clean and welcoming reception environment.
* Undertaking additional duties to support Centre operations.
Qualifications:
Applicants should hold GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications.
Personal characteristics include:
* Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor.
* Competence in operating tills and various computer programs.
* Strong customer-facing skills and confidentiality.
* Good organizational and communication skills.
* Ability to meet customer needs effectively.
