WWIN is an innovative, exciting, grassroots charity working across Sunderland and Wearside. Our purpose is to bring to an end the harm done through domestic and sexual violence to all survivors, and in particular women and children. Our work is holistic and empowering, working alongside survivors to achieve independent lives free from abuse.
We are looking for a qualified female* IDVA who wishes join our service and help us make a difference.
This is a genuine occupational requirement.
The Main Duties For This Role Are
Risk Assessment and Safety Planning
Complete risk assessments using recognised tools (e.g. DASH).
Develop and regularly review safety plans tailored to each client.
Support clients in crisis and respond to safeguarding concerns.
Casework and Advocacy
Provide practical and emotional support to victims of domestic abuse.
Advocate on behalf of clients with:
Police
Housing services
Social care
Health professionals
Courts and legal services
Support clients through criminal and civil court processes where required.
Multi-Agency Working
Prepare and present cases at MARAC meetings.
Work collaboratively with partner agencies to reduce risk.
Maintain strong professional relationships across services.
Safeguarding
Follow safeguarding procedures for adults and children.
Make referrals to statutory services where necessary.
Maintain accurate and confidential case records.
Administration and Monitoring
Keep detailed case notes and outcome data.
Contribute to service monitoring and reporting requirements.
Ensure compliance with GDPR and organisational policies
Qualifications And Experience We Require
IDVA Qualification
Experience supporting vulnerable individuals (ideally within domestic abuse services).
Strong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on adults and children.
Ability to conduct risk assessments and manage complex cases.
Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage a caseload effectively.
Good partnership and multi-agency working skills.
