Job Title: Asbestos Laboratory Analyst
Location: Newport, South Wales.
Salary / Benefits £22K – £28K + Training + Benefits
We are working closely with a UKAS accredited Asbestos Consultancy who hold a strong presence in South Wales. They are now looking for an enthusiastic and keen Asbestos Laboratory Analyst to join their team of Lab Analysts in their South Wales office. You will be working within a busy laboratory setting, carrying out analysis of asbestos samples in line with client needs, ensuring all work is carried out in line with HSG 248 guidelines. Consideration will be given to candidates from: Cardiff, Caerphilly, Cwmbran, Pontypridd, Bridgend, Barry, Chepstow, Port Talbot, Swansea, Neath.
Experience & Qualifications
* BOHS P401 (Minimum)
* Experience working in a UKAS accredited Asbestos laboratory would be beneficial to the role.
* Able to work well under pressure and will have a keen eye for detail.
* Will be IT literate.
* Able to organise workload in line with company / client needs, working to strict deadlines.
The Role
* Logging and safely storing all samples upon arrival to the laboratory.
* Preparing asbestos samples for analysis.
* Undertaking analysis using PLM and Stereo Light.
* Entering findings from analysis to internal databases accurately.
* Ensuring all work is carried out in line with HSG 248 guidelines.
* Ensuring safe working practices are being followed in the laboratory, including the calibration of equipment, and making sure the lab is clean.
