Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Darlington
Salary: £100 - £130 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Part-time / Full-time
GSL Education are working alongside a welcoming and forward-thinking school in Darlington to recruit confident and motivated Cover Supervisors. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with young people, can manage a classroom effectively, and are keen to support students in maintaining positive attitudes toward learning.
Key Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor (CS):
* Deliver pre-planned lessons to classes in the absence of the class teacher
* Maintain a positive learning environment and manage classroom behaviour
* Ensure pupils remain on task and engaged throughout lessons
* Support students with queries and provide general guidance where needed
* Follow and implement school policies, including behaviour and safeguarding
* Report on student engagement and behaviour to teaching staff
Requirements for a Cover Supervisor (CS):
* Previous experience working with young people or within a school setting
* Strong classroom management and communication skills
* Ability to engage, motivate, and support students across key stages
* A calm, confident, and adaptable approach to working in different classrooms
* Understanding of safeguarding and the ability to follow school procedures
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
