Position Overview:
Ameresco Leeds, is an award winning management consultancy business, specialising in energy, providing strategic advice, risk management and energy analytics and energy optimisation services to clients throughout the UK. Ameresco are going through an exciting period of planned growth and are looking to recruit for their UK operation in Yorkshire.
Ameresco Leeds is a leading utility consultancy with an enviable track record and reputation for innovation and exceptional Client service. Ameresco UK have a unique combination of energy industry, trading and financial expertise (developed at Yorkshire Electricity, Scottish Power, Npower, BP and Ernst & Young) that ensures we bring a multi-disciplined approach to the optimal procurement, planning and ongoing management of energy costs, usage and associated carbon emissions.
Ameresco Leeds have placed over 2,000 energy contracts worth in excess of £1 billion with 35+ suppliers on behalf of nearly 200 clients. We focus on a small number of high-value industrial and commercial clients with a considerable energy spend.
Role Scope – Markets and Transactions Manager
This is a pivotal role reporting directly to the ESM Director. It acts as an interface between strategic clients and their complex requirements, ensuring that Ameresco deliverables are met to the highest possible standard. The role will include:
1. Providing insights and analysis of the global wholesale energy markets
2. Leading client risk management meetings and providing forward buying recommendations
3. Leading the fortnightly wholesale market webinars
4. Liaison with suppliers
5. Strategic account management of nominated major clients
6. Consultancy and commercial modelling for the energy management consultancy projects
Role Duties –
7. Ensure risk management activities are completed to a high standard
8. Ensure client risk management meetings are conducted in a professional manner
9. Ensure Ameresco are fully briefed on supplier product offerings
10. Delivery of complex energy management consultancy projects
11. Strategic client account management
12. Energy industry analytical work where required
Experienced in:
13. Energy Risk Management
14. Energy Supplier contract product offerings and the operation of different supplier contracts
15. Strategic client management
16. Handling team and managerial queries in a complex business environment
17. Ability to handle multiple workstreams and activities
18. Minimum of 2 years relevant industry knowledge

The candidate must be self-starter who can identify priorities within the business – there may be periods without close supervision.
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident and have a flexible approach to work. They will be customer focused, passionate about energy efficiency and renewable energy. They should be able to demonstrate good organisational skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritise work under pressure and complete within deadlines.
