Young People Leaving Care Support Worker – Preston Area – East Lancs
Outreach – this position involves driving to meet the young people for appointments.
The office is in Preston, but the outreach covers a broader area including Wigan.
It is essential you can drive and have access to your own car, with business insurance.
This is an immediate start position on a long-term temporary contract, possibly going permanent after 12 weeks, but not guaranteed.
Otherwise, this will be an ongoing temporary contract lasting at least 3 months.
£15.50 an hour and 40p mileage.

Full UK Driving License is essential with Business Insurance.
Hours are 9-5 Monday to Friday, with flexibility required to meet the needs of the young people.
Our client is a leading provider of care to children and young people in the area and is currently recruiting for a Support Worker on a permanent basis.
A quick start is possible if you have a current online DBS.
This role involves supporting families and vulnerable young people.
It is essential that you have experience working within a similar setting and preferably have completed NVQ3 in Children & Young People Workforce or a similar qualification within this sector.
Qualifications/Requirements
High standard of general education.
Preferable: NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care – Children and Young People (CCYP) or equivalent.
Willingness to undertake further training.
Job Purpose
To be responsible for providing support for vulnerable people (service users) for the company.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Assist the Young person’s allocated Social Worker in delivering the service, including:
* Providing transport/escort to the young person as directed in care plans.
* Conducting welcome and induction for young people.
* Ongoing assessments of service users’ needs.
* Providing ongoing support and monitoring of service users.
* Assisting with welfare and NHS issues.
* Preparing reports.
* Arranging appointments with partner agencies.
* Maintaining regular contact with service users.
* Informing service users of support groups.
* Assisting with move-on of service users.
1. Accurately record, create, maintain, and update electronic records of service users.
2. Prepare for and attend meetings as required or directed.
3. Provide mediation to service users as needed.
4. Use IT packages effectively to support work.
5. Work cooperatively across multidisciplinary teams.
6. Maintain confidentiality regarding service users, clients, and the company.
7. Assist in developing policies and procedures.
8. Report housing issues and assist in resolving defects.
9. Undertake on-call duties as directed.
10. Participate in office reception duties as needed.
11. Work with service users on a 1:1 basis or supporting groups of young people, including sleep-in shifts.
12. Show flexibility to cover all offices as required.
