Land Manager Role in Residential Development
I am working with one of the leading names in house building and place-making, seeking to strengthen their team with a Land Manager.
The role focuses on identifying, negotiating, and acquiring new sites in Hertfordshire, north London, and Buckinghamshire. You will work closely with land agents and housing associations to secure new sites. Reporting to the Land Director, you will have full autonomy over projects and hold a high-profile position within the company.
You should have a portable network of contacts in the residential development agency sector and a demonstrable history of success. An intimate knowledge of the planning process and experience managing planning applications through the system are essential.
You will collaborate with internal and external consultants to manage projects through the development lifecycle.
Ideal candidates are currently employed at leading house builders or residential property developers, or senior professionals in development consultancy.
Requirements include experience in land buying for large PLC house builders or residential developers in Hertfordshire, north London, and Buckinghamshire.
Responsibilities
1. Sourcing off-market land in the specified regions.
2. Maintaining contact with housing associations for potential partnerships and joint ventures.
3. Liaising and negotiating with landowners and agents.
4. Overseeing legal, planning, and design consultants pre- and post-acquisition.
5. Staying updated on town planning policies relevant to targeted areas.
Expected Qualifications & Experience
* Degree-qualified, preferably in property-related fields.
* A proven deal maker, closing 3-4 land deals annually.
* Experienced senior land manager ready to advance.
* Track record of sourcing and acquiring land in the target regions.
* Current employment with a national residential developer, high-profile investor, or agency.
* In-depth understanding of planning application and appeals processes.
* Strong network within the land agency sector.
* Driven, ambitious, and autonomous in work approach.
