Clinical Nurse Specialist - CYP Eating Disorders
Band 7. We are looking for a Specialist Nurse to join our well‑established, innovative Nurse‑led CYP ED Intensive community treatment service (HIVE).
Job Summary
The HIVE service offers an 8‑week intensive community programme for young people with eating disorders who have not progressed with routine treatment. Care is delivered in a blended model of face‑to‑face and virtual appointments, supported meals, family work, and close physical health monitoring, and serves as an alternative to hospital admission.
Responsibilities
* Provide in‑reach support to the local GAU, maintaining continuity of care from community to inpatient settings.
* Coordinate with paediatric inpatient teams to ensure seamless transfer and discharge of patients.
* Support hospital colleagues in implementing eating‑disorder‑specific care plans, particularly for complex cases with co‑morbidities.
* Deliver comprehensive handovers to ward staff, sharing risk assessments, formulations, and meal support details.
* Participate in ward rounds, weekly multidisciplinary team discussions, and bed‑management meetings as required.
* Facilitate weekly liaison meetings with ward staff to discuss patient status and treatment progression.
Qualifications & Experience
* Current NMC registration.
* Experience working with children and young people in an eating‑disorder setting.
* Knowledge of evidence‑based treatments such as family‑based therapy.
Desirable
* Previous experience in a specialist eating‑disorder team.
* Experience with intensive community treatment models.
Salary and Contract
£47,810 to £54,710 per annum (Band 7), plus HCAS pro‑rata. Permanent, full‑time position.
Working Pattern
Full‑time. Working days: Monday to Friday (standard office hours). Travel to Waltham Forest Integrated Care Directorate and local community sites required.
