Senior Clean Water Modeller / Hydraulic Network Engineer (InfoWorks WS Pro)

We are recruiting for a Senior Clean Water Modeller / Hydraulic Network Engineer to play a key role in the development and application of potable water distribution models across strategic planning, operational optimisation, leakage reduction, and regulatory programmes.
This position suits an experienced modeller who is confident working with InfoWorks WS Pro and enjoys influencing real-world operational and investment decisions within the UK Water Industry.
Key Responsibilities
Hydraulic Modelling & Calibration
* Lead the development, maintenance, and calibration of clean water hydraulic models using InfoWorks WS Pro
* Validate models using telemetry, logger data, and flow/pressure testing
* Ensure high model accuracy through robust QA/QC processes
Operational & Strategic Planning
* Deliver scenario modelling for peak demand, outage events, resilience, and contamination response
* Support operational teams with predictive modelling, pressure management, and network reconfiguration
* Contribute to resilience and performance improvement initiatives
Investment & Growth Planning
* Provide modelling evidence to support capital investment decisions (mains reinforcement, DMAs, new developments)
* Work closely with asset planners and engineers on WRMP, AMP and business plan programmes
* Assess network impacts of growth and future demand
Water Quality Modelling
* Model water age, chlorine decay, and booster performance
* Assess impacts on service levels, discolouration risk, and regulatory compliance
* Support water quality risk management strategies
Leadership & Best Practice
* Mentor and support junior modellers and analysts
* Develop modelling standards, workflows, and QA procedures
* Support innovation initiatives including automation, data integration, and digital twin development (Python / SQL exposure beneficial)
Stakeholder Engagement
* Produce clear technical reports and visual outputs
* Engage with operational, planning, GIS, and regulatory stakeholders to align modelling outcomes with business objectives
About You
* Proven experience in clean water hydraulic modelling within the UK Water Industry
* Strong hands-on experience with InfoWorks WS Pro (essential)
* Understanding of water distribution networks, leakage, pressure management, and resilience
* Degree or equivalent qualification (MEng / BEng / BSc / HNC) in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
* Comfortable working across technical and non-technical stakeholders
