We are looking for a proactive and organised HR Assistant to join our HR team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in Human Resources, offering exposure to a wide range of HR activities across the full employee lifecycle.
You will play a key role in delivering an efficient and professional HR administration service, providing support to managers and employees across the Group.
The role is full time based at our head office in High Wycombe. Working hours are 08.30 – 17.00 Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week).
Key Responsibilities Include:
Recruitment & Onboarding
Deliver a responsive and efficient recruitment administration service
Work closely with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and role requirements
Manage job postings via the company’s recruitment platform
Coordinate with recruitment agencies
Screen applications and support shortlisting processes
Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation
Carry out pre-employment checks (e.g. right to work, references)
Support the delivery of inductions for new starters
HR Systems & Employee Records
Maintain accurate HR system records (e.g., leave, sickness, starters, leavers)
Produce absence reports and HR data insights
Maintain employee files and ensure compliance with data retention policies
Support ongoing improvements to HR systems
General HR Administration
Prepare HR correspondence and contractual documentation
Manage the HR inbox and respond to queries promptly
Administer probationary processes and escalate issues where necessary
Support employee benefits administration (e.g., pensions, healthcare)
Assist with payroll administration and reporting
Manage leaver processes and employment references
Maintain HR documentation, templates, and job description library
Support audits, compliance processes, and tender submissions
Assist with performance reviews

Strong interest in developing a career in HR

Confident working with Microsoft Office

Calm and effective under pressure
GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade A–C / Level 4 or above)
Interest in working towards a CIPD qualification (desirable)
