Our Network Response team has an opportunity for you to join as a Network Inspector. In your new role, you will operate and maintain our underground clean water network to ensure a continuous supply of the highest standard of drinking water to all of our customers. You will be involved in both reactive and proactive work, such as preventing loss, restoring water supplies, carrying out mains flushing, filter changes, valve checks and ensuring assets are maintained to a high standard.
Responsibilities
* Accountable for your own health & safety and a duty of care to colleagues and anyone affected by the work, including the general public and site personnel. Conduct dynamic risk assessments and implement suitable controls.
* Perform duties in compliance with statutory or regulatory standards, such as hygiene, NRSWA and environmental regulations, including setting up traffic management where required.
* Participate in the 24/7 reactive or planned deployment of clean water bowsers and continuous supply equipment to restore supplies or prevent loss of supplies to customers.
* Maintain key equipment (chlorination equipment, incident response vehicles, power bowsers, static bowsers, pumps, etc.) to keep them in a state of readiness. This includes confirming fittings and consumables are available, chlorinating equipment, pump efficiency testing, and maintenance of component parts.
Shift pattern: four days on and four days off, working early, day and night shifts. All schedules are planned in advance so you will know when and where you need to be.
Qualifications
To be successful you should have:
* A full, valid Category B driving licence.
* Computer literacy and knowledge of the utilities industry (electricity, gas, oil or cabling).
* The ability to work independently in towns, cities or rural locations.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* A positive attitude, caring character and willingness to be part of a team that makes a difference.
