JDR Recruitment are recruiting for a Counter Balance FLT Driver / Yard Operative based in Garstang, Preston.
Job Purpose
To support the safe and efficient movement, storage, and loading of goods within the yard or warehouse using a counterbalance forklift, ensuring all operations meet company and health & safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
* Operate a counterbalance forklift truck safely and efficiently
* Load and unload vehicles (lorries, vans) with goods/materials
* Move and stack products within the yard or warehouse
* Carry out daily checks on forklift equipment and report defects
* Ensure stock is stored correctly and securely
* Assist with picking, packing, and order preparation if required
* Maintain yard cleanliness and organisation
* Follow all health & safety procedures and regulations at all times
* Communicate effectively with colleagues, drivers, and supervisors
* Complete relevant paperwork and stock records

Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
* Previous Counterbalance FLT experience
* Candidates will be trained inhouse on the Side Loader Trucks
* Previous experience in a yard or warehouse environment
* Strong understanding of health & safety practices
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good communication skills
* Reliable and punctual
Desirable:
* Experience working in construction, timber, or heavy materials yards
* Basic IT or stock control system knowledge
* Experience operating a Side Loader truck

* Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
* Manual handling and lifting (up to [e.g., 25kg])
* Standing and moving for extended periods

* Monday - Friday 7:30am - 5pm

* £13.50 per hour
