Job Description
Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer in one of our Scotland offices – whilst also taking advantage of work from home days through our hybrid work approach.
Responsibilities
* Prepare feasibility studies, outline design, detailed design and construction support
* Produce plant layouts, design drawings and mechanical plant selection including specifications, WIMES Data Sheets, Valve schedules, Equipment Schedules, lifting strategies, hydraulic headloss calculations and P&IDs for water projects
* Liaise and collaborate with water and other discipline teams including civil, electrical, process and mechanical engineers nationwide
* Visit site to carry surveys and support liaisons with clients, contractors & suppliers
* Attend and contribute design review meetings such as HAZOPs, HAZIDs, ALMs and SWIFTS
* Line manage and mentor junior and graduate mechanical engineers
* Complete checking of mechanical deliverables produced by other engineers

Qualifications
* A degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
* Progress towards Chartered Engineer status with a relevant institution, such as IMechE
* Proven ability to deliver engineering designs, reports, drawings, technical specifications and calculations with confidence and precision
* Hands‑on experience in delivering innovative solutions for water and wastewater engineering projects
