Job Title: Maintenance Fitter Salary/Weekly Pay: £TBC per hour (37.5 hours per week) On-Call Requirement: 1 in 4 rotation (On call and callout pay) Reporting To: Maintenance Manager Role Summary: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Fitter to join our maintenance team. This is a hands-on role responsible for carrying out routine and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical equipment and systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and be confident working on a variety of pumps and industrial units in a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform maintenance, repair, and servicing on a variety of air and electric pumps. Replace and maintain components such as chevrons, stators, rotors, valves, and seals. Conduct general mechanical engineering tasks on drying units, filtration systems, and associated equipment. Diagnose faults and implement effective repairs to ensure minimal downtime. Work to scheduled preventative maintenance routines and contribute to equipment reliability improvements. Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work using internal systems. Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with company policies and health & safety regulations. Participate in the on-call rota (1 in 4), responding to emergency maintenance issues as required. Liaise with the Maintenance Foreman and Maintenance Manager on maintenance priorities and resource planning. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support capital projects as needed. Requirements: Proven experience in a mechanical maintenance role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of pump systems and mechanical components. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and engineering drawings. Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Willingness to participate in an on-call system and work flexible hours when necessary. Relevant trade qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent) are desirable.
