(Senior) Electronic Systems Engineer
Location: St Asaph, UK
Length: 6 months (possibility for permanent employment after the contract)
Security Clearance: SC (or ability to obtain)

Purpose of Role
The (Senior) Electronic Systems Engineer will design, integrate, and validate vehicle-mounted electro-optical systems used in for defence applications.
Main Responsibilities
Define system architecture (block diagrams, interfaces, power distribution)
Translate requirements into system specifications and documentation (e.g. ICDs)
Integrate vehicle power systems
Design and integrate video systems (thermal/daylight cameras, display pipelines)
Integrate data buses (CAN, MIL-STD-1553, Ethernet, RS-422/485)
Support system integration, testing, and validation (bench, vehicle, field)
Ensure compliance with EMC and environmental standards (e.g. MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-810)
Support design reviews, risk management, and issue resolution across the lifecycle
Essential Skills
Strong system design and integration skills (hardware + interfaces)
Experience with vehicle electrical systems
Knowledge of data buses (CAN, Ethernet, 1553, RS-485)
Understanding of video/data integration (cameras, displays, signal formats)
EMC knowledge (grounding, shielding, filtering principles)
Experience with requirements management tools (e.g. IBM DOORS)
Familiarity with structured systems engineering processes (e.g. ISO 15288)
