We are looking for a professional, confident Ward Manager (RMN/RNLD) at Wallace Hospital who can lead, inspire, and oversee the delivery of high-quality care.
Position Details
You'll be working 42 hours a week (12-hour shifts on Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday one week; Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday the following week) at Cygnet Wallace Hospital. This 10-bed specialist high dependency complex care service provides assessment and treatment for individuals with learning disabilities, with or without autistic spectrum disorder, as well as complex needs and behaviors.
The team supports individuals with additional mental or physical health needs, including those detained under the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act. We accept emergency referrals and are experienced in managing them efficiently to ensure smooth transitions for service users.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
1. Provide the highest standard of nursing care and serve as a role model to junior staff.
2. Coordinate all clinical aspects of the ward and ensure cooperation between departments.
3. Implement clinical and administrative policies, procedures, and regulations.
4. Ensure policy compliance among staff.
5. Support staff through debriefs, appraisals, training, meetings, and development of evidence-based practices.
6. Participate in the manager's on-call system to provide support outside of normal hours.
7. Lead by example to maintain high standards of clinical care and documentation.

Candidate Requirements
* Commitment to improving clinical service provision.
* Experience in inpatient settings, preferably acute or forensic.
* Leadership skills in managing change and motivating teams.
* Open, compassionate, honest, and resilient nature.
* Ability to conduct audits and develop action plans.
* Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and current nursing practices.
* Focus on patient recovery, risk management, and reduction.
