QHSE Manager David Ritchie (Implements) Ltd Contract: Permanent Hours: full time Location: Forfar Salary: £50,000 per annum The Company RITCHIE was established over 155 years ago as a blacksmithing service to the local community of Gateside in the County of Angus, Scotland. We occupy a 14-acre site on the outskirts of Forfar, which houses our manufacturing and business centre. We also have a manufacturing depot situated in the Midlands. Investment in the latest galvanising, CNC, robotic and computer technologies support a skilled and motivated workforce with products supplying the UK and world markets. The Role The QHSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the companys Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) integrated management systems across all Ritchie UK sites. The role ensures full compliance with BSI ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards and supports certification, surveillance, and continuous improvement activities in collaboration with recognised Authorised Bodies. This position plays a critical role in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring product and process quality, meeting customer and regulatory requirements, and driving continual improvement across the business. Key Areas of Responsibility Quality Management Maintain and continuously improve the Integrated Management System (IMS) aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements Act as the primary point of contact for audits, surveillance visits, and certifications Health & Safety Develop, implement, and monitor Health & Safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments Ensure compliance with UK HSE legislation and industry best practice Lead accident, incident, and near-miss investigations and implement corrective actions Environmental Management Manage environmental compliance and best practices relevant to metal fabrication operations Identify and reduce environmental risks, waste, and energy usage Leadership & Continuous Improvement Advise senior management on QHSE performance, risks, and improvement opportunities Prepare and present QHSE KPIs and management review data Qualifications and Experience Proven experience in a QHSE or Quality Management role within manufacturing or metal fabrication Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Experience working with certification bodies, such as DNV, Lloyds, Apragaz, etc. Strong understanding of welding processes, NDT (non-destructive testing) and NDT techniques Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation Experience leading audits and managing corrective actions Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capability You may have experience in the following: QHSE Manager, Quality Manager, HSE Manager, Health and Safety Manager, Quality and Compliance Manager, IMS Manager, QHSE Lead, SHEQ Manager, Environmental Manager, Manufacturing Quality Manager, Metal Fabrication Quality Manager.
