Job Title: Security Consultant Location: Predominantly home based with need to travel to site in Hampshire couple of times a month and occasional customers sites Contract: Initial 6-month contract (Inside IR35) – permanent option also considered Rate: £550-575 a day Inside IR35 Security Requirement: If you don't already hold it then you must be eligible for SC-level security clearance (minimum 5 years' UK residency). The Opportunity We're looking for a Security Consultant to provide guidance and accountability for security best practices – across physical security, digital (cyber) security, and risk management. This is a chance to make a real impact: operating by internally and externally you'll shape how our client and their customers approach security, ensuring robust frameworks, proactive risk mitigation, and secure-by-design thinking. The Role As a Security Consultant, you'll be responsible for ensuring security principles are embedded across products, services, and customer solutions. You'll also play a role in strengthening physical security and supporting audits and certification programmes. Key responsibilities include: Conducting security assessments and audits of products, services, and customer environments. Providing security guidance and best practice to development, delivery teams, customers and partners. Designing and implementing security solutions and controls. Monitoring and responding to security incidents and providing remediation recommendations. Overseeing and improving office security systems (CCTV, electronic access control). Supporting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activities. Researching and staying current on emerging threats, technologies, and trends. Supporting pre-sales activities with a focus on security requirements and compliance. The Person You'll bring credibility and expertise, able to advise confidently on security frameworks while keeping a pragmatic, solution-focused approach. Essential skills include: Strong understanding of security frameworks (e.g. NIST, OWASP, Secure by Design, ISO27001). Experience maintaining ISO standards and certifications (including FSC/ListX). Proven ability to support pre-sales and contribute to security elements of bids/tenders. Experience in both digital/cyber and physical security domains. Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
