Our trusted partner is hiring a Head of Data Management to lead the data architectural strategy as our client transitions from legacy on-premise data systems to a cloud-first data approach.
To be considered, candidates must have demonstrated experience as a senior leader or manager within an internal architectural function, coupled with core transformational knowledge within the financial services domain.
Compensation and Location:
The client offers a salary of approximately £120,000, plus a £7.5k car allowance, 40% LTIP, and share options. The role is based in Chatham or Wolverhampton on a hybrid basis.
Role and Responsibilities:
1. Define and maintain the target data architecture and road map, including building enterprise data platforms and increasing use of cloud technologies.
2. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to drive adoption of the target data architecture.
3. Establish data architecture frameworks, standards, and patterns to ensure consistent storage, consumption, and distribution of data.
4. Lead the scoping and initial pre-project design of data projects.
5. Develop and own key data architecture outputs, including an authoritative sources catalog and technical design documentation, following proper approval processes.
6. Recruit and lead a team of data architects and analysts.
7. Recent experience as head of or senior management within a data architecture environment, preferably in Financial Services, is essential.
8. Strong knowledge of data solutions and the ability to translate this into business solutions is required.
9. A proven track record of migrating data from on-premises to cloud in a regulated environment, handling multiple components to create data lake or lakehouse patterns, is necessary.
10. Recent exposure to modern data architectures using Azure Databricks, Synapse, ER Studio, etc., is a must.
11. Domain experience in regulated environments such as insurance, finance, or energy is required.
Benefits Package:
