Role of a Systems Engineer
Systems Engineers play a critical role in the conception, feasibility, design, development and implementation, and sustainment of complex systems, that integrate multiple elements and technologies. As a NATS Systems Engineer, you will be participating and leading systems engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, including requirements, design, testing, and assurance, initially through small tasks and growing in responsibility with experience. You will get the opportunity to work closely with senior engineers producing the technical deliverables for projects, programs and system change managed activities. You will participate in the Systems Engineering Community initiatives contributing to continuous improvement and delivery improvements.
This opportunity is well-suited to individuals early in their careers who are looking to upskill, retrain, or transition into a Systems Engineering role. It is also an opportunity for those who can bring transferable experience from other technical or engineering disciplines and who demonstrate adaptability, strong problem-solving skills, and a systems-thinking mindset.
We are looking for individuals who:
* Have some existing level of experience working across multiple phases of the engineering lifecycle
* Hold, as a minimum, a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in an Engineering or IT-related discipline, or have completed structured technical training (e.g. a recognised apprenticeship) to at least HNC-equivalent level
* Is team-oriented and works collaboratively to achieve team goals
* Can effectively prioritise and deliver tasks in a deadline-driven environment
* Demonstrate strong communication skills, a growth mindset, and a commitment to continuous learning
* Are eligible and willing to undergo security clearance
Location:
Whiteley. This is a flexible hybrid role requiring an element of onsite presence subject to the needs of the business and project context and phase whilst otherwise offering remote working when not required at a business location.
