Accredited Financial Investigator – Civil Recovery Team

Contract type: 1 year Fixed Term Contract

Location: Guildhall Yard East, London

Salary: Starting £42,220 + £6,920 London Weighting

As an Accredited Financial Investigator (AFI), you will use your POCA powers to trace assets, analyse financial statements, and execute warrants. You will also use part 5 powers to disrupt criminality, seize cash, freeze bank accounts, seize listed assets and cryptocurrencies. You will plan and execute POCA warrants and manage seizures in line with force policy. This operational role requires MV/SC clearance and completion of PPST for Police Staff.


Responsibilities

* Obtain POCA orders and warrants to conduct money laundering and asset recovery investigations.
* Ensure criminally derived assets are forfeited in accordance with legislation and policy.
* Work in partnership with other agencies to prepare, submit and complete case files, including attending court and presenting evidence.
* Interview victims, witnesses and suspects according to the relevant legislation and procedures.
* Review and manage Defence Against Money Laundering (DAML) Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs).


Requirements

* Financial investigation/intelligence techniques.
* Accredited Financial Investigator with at least 2 CRiSP modules; ideally more. Upon appointment an action plan will be set to obtain CRiSP accreditation as required.
