We are supporting an academy of schools in recruiting a Caretaker/Facilities Assistant responsible for supporting day-to-day facilities duties. The role involves assisting with the maintenance and security of premises, buildings, and grounds.
If you have experience in facilities, trades, maintenance, or operational functions, and are eager to learn and develop, this may be the role for you.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist with maintenance and ad-hoc repairs.
2. Help maintain the security of school premises, buildings, and grounds.
3. Assist in maintaining, operating, and testing security systems.
4. Participate in compliance checks.
5. Supervise contractors on-site.
6. Setup and supervise events.
Candidate Requirements:
* Previous experience in maintenance, handyman, or caretaker roles.
* Team player.
* Adaptable and flexible.
* Full UK Driving Licence and own transport (essential) due to working across multiple sites.
The position is initially a temporary role, working weekly until transferred to a permanent contract. Hours are 37 per week, with flexibility to cover times between 06:00 and 22:00, though start and end times are rarely at these extremes.
The role is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
