About the role
Are you an experienced M&E Construction Manager with a passion for safety, sustainability, and leadership? Join Balfour Beatty in the South East and play a key role in delivering high-profile projects that make a difference.
As an M&E Construction Manager at Balfour Beatty, you will take full ownership of site-based construction activities. You’ll lead from the front—managing site managers, subcontractors, and key project stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of works in line with programme, budget, safety, and quality expectations.
What you'll be doing
* Lead the delivery of construction activities, ensuring high standards of safety, sustainability, and quality.
* Manage all subcontract works, site briefings, RAMS, and daily work coordination.
* Supervise site managers and work closely with Project Manager, QS, Design and Planning teams.
* Present project progress at Monthly Project Reviews.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, including Zero Harm and sustainability targets.
* Manage project schedules, optimise resources, and ensure timely delivery.
* Oversee subcontractor performance, attendance, and progress on-site.
* Actively support customer relationships, driving communication and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
* Ensure all post-completion and defect issues are handled professionally to maintain strong client relationships.
Who we're looking for
* Proven experience in a construction management role within the M&E or general construction sector.
* Strong leadership, communication, and project coordination skills.
* Commercial awareness and understanding of construction financials.
* Familiarity with working in live operational environments.
* Previous experience with digital construction tools such as BIM 360 Field and Plan.
* Committed to continuous improvement in safety and sustainability.
* CSCS Card (valid and appropriate level)
* SMSTS
* First Aid
* Temporary Works Coordinator
* Asbestos Awareness
