We are looking for a new Sports Content Writer to join our team based in Bedford. Initially a fixed‑term 6‑month contract with the possibility of permanent employment for the right candidate. This is a hybrid role (3 days in the office, 2 days working from home).
What You’ll Be Doing
Produce high‑quality sports content for iGaming clients across a range of formats, ensuring editorial standards and brand consistency. Contribute to the wider content team by sub‑editing colleagues’ work, participating in ideation sessions, and supporting client content calendars.
In Practice
- Write sports content for iGaming clients, including betting guides, sports previews, landing page copy, and international market pieces.
- Research niche topics and target audiences for accurate, relevant, and useful content.
- Sub‑edit and proofread colleagues’ content to a consistently high standard.
- Repurpose content for international markets.
- Contribute to client content calendars and support delivery against agreed timelines.
- Attend client calls and meetings as required.
- Create internal resources and marketing materials for the content team and wider business.
Essential Requirements
- Genuine passion for sport with a strong ability to write authoritatively and with flair.
- Demonstrable writing ability – required to provide writing samples.
- Comfortable using AI tools to support and enhance your workflow.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills to manage multiple briefs without missing deadlines.
- Positive attitude and keen to develop your craft.
Desirable Requirements
- Degree in Journalism, English, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Basic understanding of SEO fundamentals (headings, metadata, optimisation).
- Experience writing for international markets or additional languages.
- Familiarity with iGaming or sports betting content.
How You’ll Be Measured
Content quality and consistency against client style guides, deadline adherence for all briefs, and your own development progress over time.
Package
£25,000 – £27,000 per annum (depending on experience).
