Land Charges Officer (6-Month Contract) Location: North West England (Remote with 1 office visit per month) Contract: 6 Months Start Date: Within the Next 3 Weeks Salary: Competitive £20-30 (DOE) About the Role We are seeking an experienced Land Charges Officer to join a busy local authority team on an initial 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in land charges administration and local land searches to support a high-performing service during a period of increased demand. The role is predominantly remote, with attendance at the office required approximately once per month in North West England. Key Responsibilities Process and maintain Local Land Charges records accurately and efficiently. Handle LLC1 and CON29 searches in accordance with legislation and service standards. Respond to enquiries from solicitors, conveyancers, developers, and members of the public. Ensure land charges data is updated and maintained in relevant systems. Support the delivery of a high-quality, customer-focused land charges service. Work collaboratively with internal departments to obtain and verify information required for searches. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, policies, and procedures. Essential Requirements Previous experience working within a Local Land Charges function. Strong understanding of LLC1 and CON29 search processes. Knowledge of relevant legislation and local authority procedures. Experience using land charges and property information systems. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively. Strong communication and customer service skills. Desirable Experience working within a UK local authority environment. Familiarity with digital land charges systems and data migration projects.
