Job Title: Young Persons Recovery Coordinator. Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support. We have almost 200 services around England and nearly 3,500 staff and volunteers. Every year our services support around 125,000 people. Position details
Permanent role • 37 hours per week • Monday to Friday 9:00am–17:00pm with occasional late shifts
Organisation context
The North Tyneside Recovery Partnership is an all-age service for those living in North Tyneside requiring support for substance addiction. The service is delivered by Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust in partnership with Waythrough since April 2025. The service has an office base in Wallsend and an outreach approach to enable easy access for all in need. The dedicated Young Persons team supports children and young people up to age 25, delivering harm reduction, structured psychosocial support including motivational work, and supporting any clinical interventions delivered by the clinical team. The role requires caseload management, strong organisational skills, a driving licence and access to a car for travel across the area.
Duties
* Manage a caseload of clients, devising, implementing and reviewing ongoing recovery plans and treatment, liaising with the service team, including family members and significant others as appropriate.
* Carry out triage/screening assessments and comprehensive assessments.
* Lead effective case management for allocated young adults, including risk assessments, risk management plans and safeguarding assessments and plans, with effective use of an online case management system.
* Develop and deliver quality programs and packages of work/psychosocial interventions that meet local need.
What you’ll need
* A driving licence and access to a car for travel across the area.
* Good organisational skills with the ability to manage a caseload.
* Compassion and commitment to helping young people, with knowledge of issues faced by young people who use substances and interventions used to engage them.
* Experience with engaging young people in substance use services.

The salary advertised reflects full earning potential; starting salaries allow for pay progression within the pay band.
