Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Band 3 Health Care Support Worker to join our School Nursing Service in Camden. The post holder will work directly with children, young people and families, supporting the delivery of care plans under the guidance of Registered Professionals. You will contribute to safe, effective and high‑quality care by following evidence‑based policies and recognising the boundaries of the Health Care Support Worker role. You will be a key member of a multidisciplinary team, working in partnership with colleagues, schools and other services to ensure a positive experience and good health outcomes for service users.
Core Responsibilities
* Work under the supervision of Registered Professionals to provide safe and effective clinical and administrative support.
* Adhere to the Code of Conduct, Trust policies, procedures and mandatory training requirements.
* Safeguard children, young people and adults by recognising risks, escalating concerns and acting as an advocate.
* Undertake delegated clinical tasks and support the delivery of public health activities within school settings.
* Prepare, maintain and update accurate health care records, including data entry and electronic documentation.
* Manage telephone enquiries and provide administrative support to the school nursing team.
* Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to support positive clinical outcomes and service objectives.
* Communicate professionally and compassionately with children, young people, families and carers, promoting consent and involvement in care.
* Reassure service users and signpost to appropriate support services as required.
* Engage in ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
* Support new staff, students and individuals on placement and act as a professional role model at all times.
Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* Numeracy and literacy skills required to keep accurate records.
* Evidence of professional and personal development.
Desirable
* NQ3 L3 or equivalent.
* NNEB, NVQ (Child Care) or equivalent.
Previous Experience
Essential Criteria
* Previous experience as a Band 2 or 3 health care assistant.
* Previous work with children in a professional capacity.
* Previous administrative work.
Desirable Criteria
* Prior working with children’s health or social services.
* Working with diverse communities.
