The Opportunity:
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Furniture Maker/Bench Joiner to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a few years of experience in the furniture manufacturing business who is ready to take on diverse projects and contribute to a dynamic workshop environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Working from technical drawings and specifications to produce a wide range of furniture components and finished pieces.
* Operating both hand tools and a variety of woodworking machinery (e.g., saws, planers, spindle moulders, sanders).
* Measuring, cutting, shaping, and assembling timber and other materials with precision.
* Creating various types of joints (e.g., mortise and tenon, dovetail).
* Sanding components ready for finishing and denibbing between finish coats.
* Applying finishes such as lacquers, oils, and waxes.
* Ensuring high-quality standards and attention to detail at all stages of production.
* Maintaining a clean and organised workshop, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
* Assembling finished furniture, quality checking and highlighting and addressing any issues discovered.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience: A minimum of 2 3 proven experience as a Furniture Maker or Bench Joiner within a furniture manufacturing or workshop environment.
* Skills:
* Proficiency in operating woodworking machinery and hand tools safely and effectively.
* Strong understanding of different timber types and sheet materials and their applications.
* Excellent practical skills and a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and cutting lists.
* Knowledge of various furniture assembly and finishing techniques.
* Problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to work.
* Attributes:

* Committed to producing high-quality craftsmanship.
* A proactive and adaptable attitude.
* Strong commitment to health and safety.
* Relevant woodworking qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Furniture Making, Bench Joinery).
* Experience with CNC machinery, HVLP paint spraying, furniture installation
* Full UK driving licence.
