Job Description: Package Dispatcher/Debriefer Polar Speed Distribution Ltd Site 2 7 Chartmoor Road Leighton Buzzard Bedfordshire LU7 4WG Monday to Friday 40 Hours 1830-0300 Job Summary To ensure the smooth running of despatch and debrief at our busy Site 2 Depot, following the current standard operating procedures and work instructions, ensuring that any warehouse briefings are followed. Responsibilities: Review Testo temperature graphs in both chiller and ambient chambers to ensure overnight/over weekend temperatures are correct, following the relevant reporting procedures. Ensure vehicles engines are switched on with minimal idling time to achieve the required set temperatures. Align drivers and vehicles to routes on Polartrack and print the driver trip sheets. Exporting the routes to the drivers PDAs, dependant on shift. Assigning any patient keys, client paperwork and PAT test kits to the driver routes as required. Brief and debrief all the drivers. Resolving any operational issues with the senior site manager and depot shift managers, and drivers. Oversee the driver scanning and loading process and assisting as and when required. Ensure the drivers are despatched within the allocated lead out time. Ensure vehicles are road worthy and safety checks and licence checks are all completed. Verify are driver pre and post loading temperatures are compliant. Reporting any vehicle or fridge defects to the fleet manager. Qualifications: Minimum B Driver licence with ideally no more than 3 points essential Previous transport experience desired, in a temperature controlled environment is ideal but not essential. Good understanding of Tachograph and Digi Card Legislation. Excellent organisational and problem solving skills. Team player mentality with the ability to work on own initiative. Excellent communication and people skills. Good IT knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams. Flexibility is required owing to the nature of the business, which may be of an urgent medical nature. Forklift Licence/experience desired but not essential as full in house training will be given.
