Unlock your passions Willow Vet Group We are a well-established and well respected practice who prides itself on ensuring a great working environment for our staff, as well as providing fantastic levels of care for our clients and their beloved pets. We are a two-site practice with all surgery being performed at our main surgery in Newport Pagnell - our branch practice in the lovely country town of Olney is quieter paced and has a more relaxed feel about it We are a wonderful, supportive team of 8 Vets. Of the 8 Vets working at Willow Vets, 5 have been qualified for at least 20 years - our most recent graduate qualified 6 years ago and joined us last year as an addition to our existing team. We also have a wonderful team of 8 RVNs and 4 SVNs, many of whom have also been with us many years, and a great and very experienced customer care team to help support the vets and nurses in their busy roles. We have certifcate holders in SAM, AVP and Exotics - and we currently hold formal clinical Vet meetings every 2 months (which usually involve pizza), where we can share ideas/recent learnings from CPD courses. Willow Vets is a well-equipped surgery with 4 consulting rooms at the Newport surgery, prep, 2 theatres, digital x-ray, ultrasound, a brand new endoscope, full in-house lab, separate cat, dog and isolation wards and provision for exotic in-patients including a vivarium when necessary. Both theatres have full multi-parameter monitoring with O2 generators and warming blankets. All GA procedures have peri-operative fluids as standard. Step into a supportive start Your normal hours of work are 40 hours per week, 4-5 days a week. Due to the particular needs of the business we need to operate a rota system, therefore there are no normal times of work applicable to you and your daily hours, start and finish times will vary from time to time on a rota system. The rota operates Monday to Friday inclusive. In addition, you may also be required to participate in a weekend rota. As previously mentioned, we are hugely lucky at Willow Vets to have many highly experienced Vets. As well as actively encouraging CPD and picking a new graduate's brains for all the new and up to date learning they will have had at uni, there will always be lots of Vets on hand to help with any cases or techniques that you need a hand with. From experience, the most important thing for a new graduate is not to feel alone, and that is absolutely something that we can ensure will not happen here Of course, when you feel ready to head off to our branch practice for a spot of consulting on your own, you will be able to do this, but there will always be someone at the end of the phone (internal direct phone system between the practices) that can help We already have 3 certificate holders at Willow Vets and should gaining a cerificate be something you are interested in, we will happily support you. Above all, we want you to become a rounded, able and confident vet who is able to work as part of a supportive team and be able to communicate with our lovely clients. You will hopefully become a part of their and their pets lives, as many of us have done over the years.
