Band 6 Midwife

The closing date is 02 June 2026

Are you an enthusiastic and committed midwife looking to broaden your skills in a supportive and forward thinking environment?

We are excited to offer fixed term Band 6 opportunities within our large and vibrant Trust, located in a beautiful seaside setting. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your practice while working within a friendly, dynamic team that is passionate about continuous improvement and high quality care.

All posts will include shift working (including night duty) and on call duty. The successful applicants will receive a comprehensive orientation programme and are assured that they will receive appropriate support.

Please note: This role does not meet the minimum criteria for visa sponsorship under the current UK immigration rules, which set specific salary and skill thresholds. As such, we are unable to provide sponsorship for this post. Applicants will therefore need to already have the right to work in the UK to be considered. We include this information at the outset to provide clarity and avoid unnecessary inconvenience for applicants.

If you are applying using a Graduate visa as your right to work, you must have a minimum of 18 months remaining on your visa at time of application.

Main duties of the job

* Be responsible as an autonomous practitioner for assessing, diagnosing and providing professional clinical midwifery care to women during the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal stages without referral to a medical practitioner.

As a Band 6 Midwife, you will have the opportunity to work across a full rotation, including:

We’re proud to be a Disability Confident Employer (Level 3) and a Veteran Aware Trust.

Candidate Pack

Please note that if you currently work for another NHS Trust or UHSussex and you are applying to accept this position as a secondment opportunity, before applying you must seek agreement and authorisation from your current Trust/Manager. Secondments can't be agreed without this approval. If you are unable to gain approval you should refrain from applying unless you wish to take this role as a fixed term position.
