The neurology research team currently supports a range of commercial and academic, observational and complex interventional studies. This role involves regular contact with patients and research that can impact future patient care. The well-being and safety of research participants are our priorities, as is ensuring data accuracy and reproducibility.
As a neurology research nurse, you will be involved in all stages of the research process, including setup, patient identification and recruitment, delivery of research interventions, safety monitoring and reporting, and data management. You will utilize your clinical skills to deliver high-quality care to participants throughout their research journey.
The successful candidate will be an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated adult nurse with pride in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and clinical skills, along with a flexible approach, are essential. Joining the UHB Research, Development and Innovation Team offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of interventional and observational neurology studies aimed at improving future treatment and care.
Key qualities include:
* Genuine enthusiasm for the role
* RN with substantial experience at Band 5 or above in a clinical NHS setting
* Mentoring qualification or equivalent experience
* Ability to lead or coordinate a clinical shift or department area
* Competence or willingness to become competent in extended roles, e.g., venepuncture
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Ability to work under pressure across competing demands
* Flexible approach to meet patient needs
* Previous research or neurology experience is highly desirable but not essential
