Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Scheme Support Officer to join our well-established team at our Clarewood Project in Neath, on a part-time (19.5 hrs), permanent basis.
What is great about the role? Clarewood is a Supported Housing project that provides up to 10 spacious, self-contained flats for young people aged 16-25. You will support young people who are homeless or threatened with homelessness to gain independence, building on your existing experience in supporting people with additional skills and knowledge. Support is tailored to individuals’ needs and day-to-day duties can include:
* Applying for appropriate permanent accommodation
* Facilitating activities such as basic DIY, independent living skills learning, craft activities, group discussions, gardening, decorating, games, quizzes, fitness and film nights
* Connecting with external partners in Neath including social services and youth services to offer support and engagement for young people
* Administrative tasks, keeping and updating accurate records
* Support with access to ICT, employment, education and volunteering opportunities
How you can make a difference
You will act as a first point of contact and a role model for the young people we support, helping them transition to independent living and providing practical advice and support. You should be creative, engage our young people in activities and workshops, be flexible and enthusiastic, and have awareness of the lifestyles of the young people we support.

Our clients may have led traumatic lives and could display a range of complex behaviours and needs. The scheme provides 24-hour support for young people to build and develop their skills and confidence. Part of the role will include sleep-in shifts at the scheme, with a secluded area and access to bathroom and kitchen facilities.
Pay and Benefits
* Competitive salary of £24,531.00 FTE (£12.75 per hr) + £62.64 sleep-in allowance
* Part-time, permanent (19.5 hrs)
* Work pattern: 6-week rolling rota, including lone working, evenings, weekends and at least one sleep-in per week. An additional £62.64 is paid for each sleep-in.

* 26 days (pro rata) holiday entitlement plus Bank holidays, rising to 27 days after 1 year’s service or cash equivalent of 1 day annual leave
