The Role as Conference & Banqueting Supervisor
As Conference & Banqueting Supervisor, you'll be at the heart of our events operation, ensuring everything runs seamlessly from setup to service. Working closely with the Catering Manager and Sales Office team, you'll lead and motivate the team while providing warm, professional and attentive service to every guest.
From high volume banquets and wedding receptions to VIP dining and festive events, no two days will be the same.
What You'll Be Doing
* Acting as the main point of contact for conference and event clients on the day
* Ensuring rooms are set to exact specifications and high standards
* Managing rotas, stock, documentation and basic financial checks
* Maintaining health & safety compliance and leading by example
* Providing cover across catering operations when required
What Were Looking For As Conference & Banqueting Supervisor
Essential
* Experience supervising conferences and events, including wedding receptions
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Strong organisation, leadership and attention to detail
* Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines
* Sympathy with and understanding of the mission and values of the Cathedral
* Professional, well presented
* Flexible and adaptable to suit business needs, including weekends and bank holidays
* A natural host with a proactive, people focused approach
Desirable
* Food Hygiene, First Aid and Health & Safety certificates
* Knowledge of food safety and relevant legislation
