Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade C - Newcastle)
Location: Newcastle/Hybrid
Hybrid working available – with the flexibility to work from home and collaborate in office when needed.
We are seeking a NQ‑Grade C Solicitor or equivalent to join our dynamic and supportive team, where your expertise will make a real difference. With a strong reputation in clinical negligence and a team that includes APIL, AVMA, and Law Society accredited specialists, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients.
As a Grade C Solicitor in our Clinical Negligence team, you will support Lawyers and Senior Lawyers in managing a diverse caseload from inception through to trial, taking delegated tasks and assisting in settling cases. You will mentor and coach junior team members and contribute to the team’s overall success.

Accountable For
* Running an individual caseload
* Providing support, guidance and assistance to the team to deliver outstanding service to clients
* Contributing to proactive and commercial case management and progression across the team
* Supporting the Team Leader/Head of Department in ensuring delivery of financial and performance KPIs
* Effective and thorough time recording
Responsible For
* Discussing and agreeing case tactics and planning with the Team Leader/Head of Department and team members
* Identifying and driving cases ready for LOC, settlement, and service within the team
* Working with the team to ensure relevant information is collected and collated to enable progression of the case
* Managing a caseload in a proactive commercial manner
* Co‑ordinating progression of cases with internal and external parties
* Drafting legal documentation including LOC, letters of instruction
* Negotiating settlement and issuing and serving proceedings if required
* Litigating claims as required
* Overseeing documentation and correspondence produced by the team
* Advising the team on technical issues arising from their cases with support from Team Leader/Head of Department
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Recent experience handling a caseload
* NQ—5 years PQE or equivalent experience working in Clinical Negligence
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills
* Excellent communication and drafting skills
* Excellent IT skills especially with Microsoft Office, Proclaim and Excel
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment
* Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring
* Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines
* Excellent client care skills
