Overview
Join our dynamic team at Livingstone Community Hospital in Dartford as a Healthcare Assistant. You’ll be a key part of our community nursing team, providing care to patients in their homes or in a clinic setting. We empower staff with autonomy and flexibility, offering tablets to stay connected, update patient notes on the go, and avoid being tied to an office. This is a community-based role requiring a valid UK driving licence and access to a car. Our service operates from 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week, enabling you to make a real impact.
Main Responsibilities
* Assist in providing nursing care as delegated by the Senior Sister/Team Sister within patients’ homes.
* Maintain knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to deliver a quality, responsive service.
* Provide clerical and administrative support to the team as delegated by the Senior Sister/Team Sister.
* Undertake technical aspects of nursing care (e.g., dressings, glucose monitoring) following training and once competent.
* Implement evidence-based nursing care within the patient’s home.
* Work unsupervised, planning and organising tasks and home visits as delegated by the nurse in charge.
* Maintain accurate patient records in line with professional and organisational requirements (electronic CIS and any paper records).
The Ideal Candidate
This is an opportunity to use NVQ level 2/3 or the equivalent qualification/experience. Strong communication and organisation skills, plus a flexible approach, help you deliver positive experiences to patients at every stage of their healthcare journey. You will need to travel across the patch in a timely manner, so a UK driving licence and access to a car are required. Confidence using IT systems and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is preferred.
