As a Senior Investigator, you will be a key player in case teams at the TRA to progress trade remedies cases. You will take an active role in:
* assessing claims of unfair trade practices;
* reviewing financial accounts and other documents;
* analysing data, planning and conducting site visits;
* collaborating with internal and external participants in an investigation.
You will prepare detailed reports outlining the conclusions of the investigations you participate in, to support the TRA’s decisions and recommendations as to whether remedies should be applied in the UK.
Role Purpose
As a Senior Investigator, you will play a central role in case teams carrying out investigations into allegations of dumping and subsidy in connection with goods imported into the UK. Your impact will enhance our reputation as an international authority in trade remedies practice as well as the overall performance of the organisation.
As a Senior Investigator, you will work independently using your expertise and judgement to deliver on these elements of the investigation. You will be working alongside and in partnership with economists, lawyers, accountants and policy teams, progressing your own work and supporting and reviewing others and helping the Lead Investigator to progress the case.
Senior Investigators may have direct line management responsibility and you will be responsible for leading delivery of work through others across business areas. You will also provide coaching and training support and advice to trainee investigators. You may be assigned one or more trainee investigators to mentor.
In order to perform in this role, you will need to:
* Plan and lead discrete elements of investigations and reviews, applying and interpreting trade remedies legislation and policy to solve problems innovatively;
* Collect, verify, and interpret quantitative, financial, and complex data using advanced software techniques to reach well-reasoned findings;
* Prepare complex written reports, briefs, and advice; present findings and recommendations effectively to senior personnel and stakeholders;
* Maintain accurate case files, records, and case management systems; contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement;
* Lead meetings, briefings, and build effective relationships across government, industry, and international partners;
* Prioritise and coordinate own and others’ work to meet deadlines, while undertaking required training and personal development.
