Your Role
We are a leading Coaching building / manufacturing business specialising in the design, build / conversion of refrigerated trucks and vans. We are a standalone part of the Rygor Group, one of largest UK dealers for Mercedes Benz Trucks, & Vans. Since the Rygor acquisition in 2024 the business has tripled in size, and we are now looking for an experienced Managing Director to help continue to drive the business forward, and deliver on our strategic objectives. Reporting into the company owners, this pivotal role requires proven expertise and hands‑on experience in running the operations of a vehicle coach building company, combined with strong commercial acumen and excellent leadership skills. You will have full responsibility of the business operations, and are expected to deliver operational excellence, manage supplier, customer & stakeholder relationships, deliver the growth ambitions, and meet customer requirements to the highest standards. We expect you to be able to foster a culture of innovation and continuous growth and improvement. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of manufacturing processes in this field, compliance, and health and safety, as well as the ability to inspire and develop high‑performing teams. This is an onsite role, you will need to be based near Manchester and be able to commute to the factory daily.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership and direction for the company, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability.
* Oversee all operational aspects of vehicle coach building and refrigerated unit manufacturing.
* Develop and implement business plans, budgets, and performance targets aligned with company objectives.
* Drive operational excellence through process optimisation, quality assurance, and compliance with health and safety standards.
* Lead and inspire a high‑performing management team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
* Build strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and stakeholders to support business development.
* Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for innovation and expansion.
* Ensure financial control, risk management, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
