About the Job
As an Aquatics Manager, you will be responsible for proactively managing the Lifeguarding teams’ performance, health and safety on poolside, coordinating wet side timetables, events, and rotas, and setting team targets. As a Duty Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our Leisure Centre, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and high-quality customer experience. Ultimately, you will ensure all operations run smoothly and help us meet our company goals.
You will also be a key holder for the building, responsible for opening and closing the site during your shift. Our sites operate from 6am to 10pm, so flexibility with working hours is required.
Key Responsibilities
* Line management responsibilities including recruitment, induction, training, appraisals, development, and performance management of staff, including one‑to‑ones
* Ensuring staff attend NPLQ CPD’s, maintaining records and verification requirements
* Delivering a comprehensive aquatics program, including swimming timetables and holiday activities tailored to local communities
* Coordination of events such as galas and holiday camps
* Organizing the pool timetable
* Managing daily, weekly, and monthly pool plant operations and checks
* Handling H&S incidents, safeguarding concerns, and reporting
* Providing excellent customer service
* Supervising maintenance and cleaning
* Driving financial targets and KPIs, including customer service, occupancy, revenue, payroll, and participation
* Monitoring and reporting on aquatic programs’ effectiveness and business objectives
Experience and Qualifications Required
* First Aid at Work Qualification
* National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
* Ability to work towards a Pool Plant Operator Qualification
* Experience managing operations in the leisure sector, especially wet side operations
* Supervisory experience
* Strong communication, influence, and motivation skills
* Experience working in a health & safety critical environment with legislative knowledge
