About the role Are you a dynamic influencer with a proven track record in large, matrix-based organizations? We’re seeking a Regional EHS Director who can shape and drive Environmental, Health, and Safety strategy across multiple manufacturing sites and office locations in Europe. This is a high-impact leadership role where your ability to engage, coach, and influence senior executives and cross-functional teams will be critical to transforming our safety culture and operational standards. This is a remore role which can be based anywhere in Europe. Please note, we are not using recruitment agencies to fill this role. Key responsibilities Act as a strategic advisor to the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Team, providing expert EHS guidance. Develop and implement a regional EHS strategy and standards aligned with global objectives. Lead, coach, and develop a network of EHS leaders, fostering accountability and collaboration. Champion a proactive, behaviour-driven safety culture across all levels of the organization. Design and lead regional campaigns and engagement programmes to raise awareness and promote accountability. Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international EHS and Process Safety Management (PSM) regulations. Oversee internal and external EHS audits, driving continuous improvement initiatives. Manage incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are shared regionally and globally. Provide due diligence and risk management support for M&A, new sites, and large-scale projects. What you’ll need to be successful Bachelor’s or master’s degree (or equivalent) in Health & Safety, Environmental Management/Science, or a related field. 10 years of EHS leadership experience within manufacturing (ideally FMCG, food, chemical, or pharmaceutical sectors). Demonstrated expertise managing PSM risks and regulatory compliance across multiple sites. Advanced knowledge of EHS management systems and PSM frameworks (e.g., HAZOP, FMEA, LOPA). Strategic mindset with strong influencing and stakeholder management skills across cultures. Proven ability to lead and develop multi-site teams, driving and embedding behavioural and cultural change. Integrity, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset.
