Band 8a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist/Senior DBT Therapist
We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable senior DBT therapist or clinical/counselling psychologist trained in DBT, with a particular interest in family therapy work.
About CASCADE is an all-ages (14+) DBT service delivering comprehensive, adapted and DBT-informed therapies to treat core difficulties associated with severe emotional dysregulation, complex PTSD and other co-occurring presentations related to an Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder.
Responsibilities
* Join a growing team of new and experienced DBT therapists delivering comprehensive DBT and adapted models (e.g., DBT-PE, DBT for cPTSD, RO-DBT and other DBT-informed interventions).
* Provide individual therapy, skills training groups and telephone coaching across both CYP and Adult DBT programmes.
* Offer specialist psychological assessments and formulations, and provide consultation and advice to staff teams on DBT and behavioural principles.
* Ensure inclusion of family and carers throughout, and plan/implement direct family work where appropriate.
* Demonstrate interest in or experience of family therapy or delivering DBT-informed interventions and psychoeducational groups to family and carers where desirable.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Training & Qualifications
o Core professional training with appropriate registration.
o DBT trained diploma level or intensive training (with or without accreditation).
* Experience
o Experience with children/young people and/or adults with personality difficulties and complex trauma in community and/or inpatient settings, or within a personality disorder and complex trauma pathway.
o At least 2 years post-qualification experience delivering comprehensive DBT and/or DBT-A in mental health settings.
* Skills & Knowledge
o Ability to formulate problems from a psychological perspective and apply highly specialist therapies with fidelity.
o Ability to provide consultation to other professionals and non-professional groups.
Desirable
* Pre-qualification training or additional qualifications in accredited CBT or other therapies (e.g., MBT, CAT, EMDR), including training in adapted DBT models (DBT-PE, DBT-RO, DBT-A).
* Experience of direct work with parents, families and carers within a DBT programme.
* Experience leading service development or implementing service initiatives.
